Darkspore, the mutant offspring of Will Wright and Diablo, had a closed beta recently. They have since closed the closed beta, but now are opening the open beta! I know, it seems so intuitive.

Since the start of this month, 1 million copies of Spore have been sold. EA seems ecstatic over the success of their game, released on PC, Mac, and DS. Its happened fast, despite the many people complaining about Spore’s DRM. I do wonder, however, what that number would be if you added the number of pirated copies. And I doubt I’m the only one.
