VGAs: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands trailer - December 13, 2009 by Jens Erik Vaaler

The video game was already announced, but gamers had to wait until this weekend for a trailer to hit. In The Forgotten Sands, Ubisoft has elected to deviate from the storyline established in 2008’s Prince of Persia and is revisiting Sands of Time canon.

Not a lot is shown in the trailer, just a whole lot of sand and what appears to be the parkour style platforming the series is known for, though the graphics are not in-game. However, the trailer does give off a vibe of being a film tie-in. The Forgotten Sands is slated to hit stores at the same time as the upcoming Sands of Time movie by Mike Newell.

You can view the trailer after the cut.

VGAs: Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 announced - December 13, 2009 by Jens Erik Vaaler

Those of us who stayed until after the credits in Batman: Arkham Asylum pretty much knew this was coming. The sequel rumours started circulating once the first sales numbers hits, and Rocksteady did indeed say they were doing a sequel if the game sold well enough.

Apparently the sales were good enough because Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 was announced at the Spike VGAs on Saturday. The trailer hints at the game’s set in a small part of Gotham City, which Joker and his henchmen have taken control of. Harley Quinn also returns. No other villains were shown, but the trailer did drop some hints by referencing the Penguin, Two-Face and Black Mask. The Joker does sound like Mark Hamill, but no word on Kevin Conroy’s return just yet.

Enjoy!

New Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou trailer released - November 26, 2009 by Jens Erik Vaaler

New Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou trailer released

Capcom has just released a new trailer for the upcoming DS game Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou. Okamiden is the sequel to the beautiful PS2 game Okami. The trailer looks incredible, despite the downgraded visuals.

kamiden stars Chibiterasu, a celestial wolf who bears a resemblance to Amaterasu, the protagonist of Okami. The celestial brush makes a triumphant return to solve puzzles and fight enemies.

The game takes place three months after the events of Okami. Demons have returned to Nippon and it’s up to Chibiterasu to stop them. It’s speculated that Chibiterasu is Amaterasu’s son, retaining Amaterasu’s abilities, but lacks her power.

Give it a peek after the cut.

As you may recall, Adon, Cody and Guy were confirmed for Super Street Fighter IV in Famitsu recently, and now we have a video showing off the characters in all their HD, 3D glory.

Fans will no doubt be impressed with how well these characters’ moves have been translated to Street Fighter IV. As an avid Adon and Guy player myself, I’m especially impressed with what they’ve done with these two characters.

Check out the trailer for yourself, after the cut.

New trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - August 20, 2009 by Jens Erik Vaaler

Those of us who are already excited about Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will most likely be doubly excited after witnessing the new trailer revealed at gamescom this week.

Developed by mercurysteam, in association with Kojima Productions, Castlevania is shaping up to be vastly different than the old school 2D side-scrollers, with ambitions of being the first actually good 3D Castlevania game.

Some parts of the trailer is footage we’ve already seen, but others reveal more combat footage, as well as various ways protagonist Gabriel can use the combat cross. There’s still no details on whether or not Gabriel is a Belmont, but the Belmont name is mentioned in the title, by a character voiced by Jason Isaacs. Could he be the one playing Dracula? Only time will tell.

Command & Conquer 4 trailer released - July 24, 2009 by Jens Erik Vaaler

The first trailer for Command & Conquer 4 has just been released, and it appears to take place in Manchester. Yes, that Manchester, England. As in Manchester, England., home of two football (or soccer, to you Americans) teams.

From what we can tell, the city has been overrun with Tiberium, and dialogue seems to indicate the entire world has suffered a similar fate. And the Brotherhood of Nod has a proposition for the GDI.

Looks like England is in for some fun.
