What it says on the label, folks. In July, The Old Republic is going Free to Play up to level 15. Bioware also promised new expansions in the future, a new world to explore, Makeb, and a new playable class.

…And it’s about damn time. It’s taken three incredibly long years of waiting, teasing and hardly any E3 presence beyond cinematic trailers, but Star Wars: The Old Republic has finally gotten a release date. SW:TOR will launch on December 20, 2011 in North America and on December 22, 2011 in Europe, meaning it will be the perfect Christmas gift for Star Wars nerds!

Oh LucasArts, will you never stop running yourself into the ground? Confirming the rumors posted on Kotaku earlier today, a representative for LA told Industry Gamers that “LucasArts is reorganizing its teams to better address the needs of the internal studio.” They haven't said how many, but the rumour reports say it is as much as 30%.

Miss Electronic Arts live E3 conference? Never fear, we have a recording of the conference below for you to watch, courtesy of GameSpot. Highlights included Dante’s Inferno, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, Fight Night Round 4, a new martial arts fighting game called EA MMA, Grand Slam Tennis, The Saboteur and the first ever cinematic trailer for BioWare’s epic MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Edge magazine have been busy updating themselves on BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO, revealing a new class in the process; Smuggler.
