The guys over at Mad Catz kindly extended us an invite to go head down to Super vs Battle 2010 and interview Daigo Uemara, Super Street Fighter IV World Champion and key member of ‘Team Mad Catz’. As a fighting game fan myself, I could hardly pass up this opporunity, and so headed down to see what was going on at what is now the UK’s largest fighting game tournament.

Mad Catz FightPad Review
Before taking a look at the Mad Catz FightStick Tournament Edition S, I was lucky enough to also try out the middle-ground between a normal controller and a stick: The Mad Catz FightPad.
In their quest for dominance of the fighting game controller market, Mad Catz have taken most of the features from the FightPad from the controller that has historically arguably had the best fighting game performance – the Sega Saturn.
Mad Catz FightStick Tournament Edition S Review
Street Fighter IV single-handedly revived the fighting genre for me, and I’ve been spending a pretty great deal of time trying to get better at the game. When Super Street Fighter IV arrived I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to review the gold standard for hardcore fighting fans everywhere – the Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightStick.
The FightStick I got my hands on was the Super Street Fighter IV branded Tournament Edition S, which takes all the best things about the original Street Fighter IV TE FightStick and crams them into a smaller, more compact case – thus the S in the name.

New Super Street Fighter IV trailer shows off Cody, Guy and Adon
As you may recall, Adon, Cody and Guy were confirmed for Super Street Fighter IV in Famitsu recently, and now we have a video showing off the characters in all their HD, 3D glory.
Fans will no doubt be impressed with how well these characters’ moves have been translated to Street Fighter IV. As an avid Adon and Guy player myself, I’m especially impressed with what they’ve done with these two characters.
Check out the trailer for yourself, after the cut.
Car smashing to be part of SSFIV
According to a story on Siliconera, Super Street Fighter IV will be cranking up the nostalgia. The car smashing and barrel breaking bonus stages from Street Fighter II are making a triumphant return. This is revealed in a scan from Famitsu magazine.
Famitsu could also reveal details about SSFIV’s online modes. New options will include Team Battles, supporting 2 on 2 and 4 on 4, and a Replay Channel. The matches themselves are still one on one, but Team mode will allow clans to meet up and get a common score.
Capcom has also added Endless Mode, which lets eight players meet up and fight.
One word people: Awesome!
