Edmund McMillen, the sick and immeasurably twisted mind behind the superlative Super Meat Boy, has today confirmed that his latest output, the biblically inspired rogue-like shoot-em-up The Binding of Issac, will be ‘remade’ for home consoles. He has also promised that the recently released Wrath of the Lamb DLC will be packaged in with the newly announced console versions.
It’s been seven months since Indie Game: The Movie made their kickstarter quoata of $35,000, in fact they doubled it raising over $70,000, and in that time anticipation of the movie has grown to a fever pitch. Last week was the one year anniversary of the release of Super Meat Boy on XBLA and to celebrate Team Meat is having a celebration. Next month (no set date yet) the game will not only be on sale, but will also have a free update for “Teh Internets”. For fans of Super Meat Boy, Edmund McMillen’s newest venture, with Florian Himsl, will be coming to Steam early September. The Binding of Isaac embodies the same art and style we know and love from Super Meat Boy with an even more sinister undertone. The trailer shows gameplay and a vast multitude of villains. There’s so far over 130 items and 20 villains for the game to choose from.
Team Meat‘s tough-as-nails Super Meat Boy hit it big last year on Xbox Live Arcade, and Team Meat announced today that a new project is underway. In an interview with Eurogamer, the two-man development team confirmed that this new project was an “ambitious” and “more experimental” project than their previous game.
