E3 is just around the corner, and one of the big talks of last year’s E3 was 3D gaming. Sony showed it off, Nintendo showed it off, but Microsoft‘s push into the real of 3D wasn’t making an appearance at all. As with every game, there are both upsides and downsides when it comes to waiting for the damned thing to release. Take Batman: Arkham City for example: Downside: it’s not out for another year. Upside: more details have leaked onto the net, this time from GameVicio magazine and subsequently posted on the official Arkham City forums. Check after the cut for more details.

Nintendo has recently filed several trademarks which appear to be related to the Nintendo 3DS. This comes courtesy of a report on Siliconera. The trademarks filed are CrossPass, CrossPass Mode, CrossPass Network, and CrossPass Connection, which sound like they’re related to the 3DS networking mode. This feature will allow players to exchange data when near other players.

For those of you that didn’t know, fighting game tournament extraordinaire EVO was held in Las Vegas last week. Games were played, winners were crowned, and rumours of a surprising crossover surfaced. Namco Bandai’s Katsuhiro Harada and Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono teased the crowd at EVO with some peculiar onstage banter. The two revealed a fighting game debut trailer set to go live on Saturday, July 24th during Comic-Con.
