Followers of Crackdown 2 have reason to be very happy, since Ruffian’s confirmed that the game is going to get a pre-release demo. This was revealed in an interview with IGN.
James Cope, the game’s producer, couldn’t say when the demo would hit online services: “Ruffian is one year old almost to the day. You can definitely expect a demo to hit Live before the game is out but I can’t say when that will be… yet. The Crackdown demo was fantastic and we want to carry on in that form.”
“The original Crackdown was pretty fun to play, but garnered a lot of critisism for a repetitive mission structure. Cope revealed the missions in the sequel would “require a bit more tactical thinking.”
Sounds great to me!
According to Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg, the sequel will launch sometime in the first half of this year.
VG247 recently got up close and personal with developers Ruffian Games and Crackdown 2, and lots of information about the game was revealed from the interview.
- Four-way co-op for entire campaign
- Nine new, extremely large underground areas with “underworld population”
- Unique co-op vehicles
- New types of orbs to collect
- New hand-to-hand fighting system
- Big multiplayer with many different modes
Still no release date, unfortunately, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as one is announced.
