Capcom are a big fan of crossovers aren’t they? I mean, we’ve had everything from Marvel vs Capcom, to SNK Vs Capcom, Namco X Capcom, Street Fighter X Tekken and everything in-between. With the news earlier in the year that we could whet our crossover palettes with Nintendo DS icons Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright butting heads in a game of their own, (jointly produced by Layton stalwarts Level-5 no less) comes a newly released Japanese [...]
Order in the court! The Famitsu scans have been translated, and new details on Ace Attorney 5 have been presented. Let’s look over the notes!
Famitsu has dropped a 3DS megaton, announcing Ace Attorney 5 (or Gyakuten Saiban 5) for the handheld. Not much info has been leaked, except that Phoenix Wright is returning as the main character, and his partner is no longer Maya Fey, but a mysterious “girl in yellow”. As scans leak, more details will be available, so stay tuned.
And it doesn’t look really bad as most would expect. In the latest video game-turned-movie adaptation, Phoenix Wright will be appearing on the big screen with all its courtroom antics intact. For a sneak peek at the upcoming Japanese piece of win, check behind the cut.
Takashi Miike, the Japanese film director of family-friendly hits such as Ichi the Killer and Audition has hinted that he may be working on a comedy based on the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series. Miike told the Huffington Post, “It is a very light comedy that I am filming now. [It's] a court drama, based on a video game, the Nintendo game DS.”
Level 5, the developers of the Professor Layton games, as well as many successful RPGs, have just finished a press conference where they announced two 3DS titles, an original IP called Time Travelers, and a cross-over title between Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright. The game will be developed by Level 5, but written by Shu Takumi, the main director of the Ace Attorney series.
First, you saw Phoenix Wright on the Gameboy Advance (well, in Japan you did). Then you saw him on the DS. Then you saw him on the Wii. And now? The iPhone. That’s right, next week sees the first game in the series, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, on the iPhone. Not only that, the game’s only going to run you $4.99, AND it has not just four, but all five [...]
You betcha! Phoenix Wright: Justice For All is coming to the Wii…and sooner than expected! Before now, the game was set to have a release date in March, but thanks to a wizard and magic therein, you can now expect it in the WiiWare store this month! Personally, I think it’s great news when games get release bumps when all you see are games getting pushed back. Catch Justice For [...]
