Yes, that’s a type of cheese. Anyway…

Gearbox has just released a patch for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Borderlands which fixes some major bugs that launched with the game. Most important amongst these is that is Lilith’s Phase Strike, which now… actually works.
Fixes for PS3
Resistance 2 players are going to get a few presents this Thursday, but excuse us for wrecking the surprise, with the help of TSA.
First off, there will be the Aftermath Map Pack, featuring, you guessed it, some maps, and some new characters skins. However, there is something a great deal more interesting coming, too, and it takes the form of a patch.
The patch will enable two players to both log into their own Playstation Network account on one PS3, enabling them to level-up their online profiles next to each other on the couch.
This hasn’t previously been implemented because it was not possible without a firmware update. This seems to imply that there will be a firmware update before Thursday, though we can not be certain, we can sure as hell hope. Cross your fingers, children.
Ubisoft is looking to introduce a hardcore mode for all versions of Far Cry 2 in its next patch release.
The new mode, which is for multiplayer gaming, has been created due to fan requests for a more realistic experience.
Here’s what will happen:
* A new damage model will be applied with increased damage for all weapons
* All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode
* Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (a shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible)
* A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).
* A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.
Ubisoft hasn’t set a date yet, but will let us all know when they have.

A lot of people know, that once you’ve finished Fallout 3, that’s it, no more continuing the game, or doing side quests.
All that is about to be changed with a new patch. 360 and PC gamers will now be able to continue playing the game’s quests (and the new DLC, obviously) even after the game’s ending, thanks to the new patch.
What about the PS3? When asked if PS3 players will get the same patch Tod Howard, the game’s executive producer, replied:
“Not at this time, no.”
It sucks to be a PS3 Fallout player right about now.
The World of Warcraft 3.0.8 patch went live today; the first major game patch since Wrath of the Lich King back in November. The main focus of the patch is class balancing (read: nerfing) and major bug fixes.
You’ll have to wait until 3.1 if you want the good stuff.

Although the Fallout 3 1.10 patch fixes a larger number of bugs and glitches, reports have been coming into us from gamers (as well as on the official forums) that this patch has also introduced some new problems, most commonly on the PS3. See below for the full details.
After applying the patch, some players’ saved games have been reported to be missing items – including but not limited to keys for important locations, on random occasions. Furthermore, some gamers have noticed that the game has an increased chance of freezing after loading an area.

[UPDATE] Gamers have bee reporting some problems with the new patch.
Bethesda confirmed today that the first in a series of three Fallout 3 DLC packs, Operation: Anchorage, will be available from the Live Marketplace, on 360 and PC, on January 27th.
Operation: Anchorage will set gamers back 800 Microsoft Points, and will allow players to enter a simulations of “one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe”, the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from invading Red Chinese troops in the late 21st century. It will introduce a new squad-based combat system to the game, and includes a number of extensive new quests and new achievements.
Bethesda has also released a patch in preparation for the expansion pack, which also fixes a host of existing bugs and glitches.
PC gamers can dowload the patch from here, whilst PS3 and 360 owners can download the patch simply by loading up the game whilst logged onto the internet with their consoles.

A spokesman from Lionhead has told videogaming247.com that a release date for Fable 2’s Knothole Island DLC is “very close”:
“We’re very close to a release date for the DLC, plus the patch of course,” said the spokesman.
As we know, Knothole Island was pushed back a few months due to “technical difficulties”. Those of us who know of Fable’s development history can only hope that this will be the only delay.

In preparation for the ever quickly approaching release of the World of Warcraft expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King, the 3.0.2. has gone live on servers worldwide.
Along with new talent trees for all classes, the patch adds the new “Inscription” profession, it’s own variation on achievements, player calendars, barbershops, and many, many other additions too numerous to detail.
The patch weighs in at a hefty 1.5GB, so players can expect to be in for a bit of a wait installing it.
