It’s dark days indeed… according to court documents posted on NetDockets, Midway is seeking an “execution of an asset purchase agreement for the sale of Midway’s Mortal Kombat franchise assets”
Around $3,755,000 in bonuses have been set aside by the flagging company for those who manage to offload the company’s rights. Mortal Kombat is undoubtedly their biggest franchise, and has been with the company since its inception.
It’ll be a strange day for the industry when Mortal Kombat will be sitting in the hands of a developer that isn’t Midway.
Midway has asked the amazing Ross to handpaint the Kollectors Edition (Not individually of course, might be a little painful!). The box also comes with a removable print, Bonus video content, and a short 16-page comic book.
The Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe Kollectors Edition (Xbox 360, Playstation 3) will hit the shelves in November with a price tag of $69.99.
Collectors editions are getting to become more of the same, we need something different, thats worth the $10-$100 extra. Maybe a cat helmet like Halo 3 gave us.

Today Midway announced the names of the full cast-list for Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. The list is pretty much exactly what you’d expect, with all the major regulars and big names from both franchise making the cut, including Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Batman, and Superman, amongst a few little surprises.
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe is due for release on PS3 and Xbox on November 10th.
