There you have it, folks. At the Sony segment of the GDC, Sony has officially given “Arc” a name – The PlayStation Move.
Seems kind of like an obvious name for a motion controller, but I suppose it also succinctly explains its purpose.
The PlayStation Move will come bundled with a PlayStation Eye, a game and the controller itself for under $100.
In addition, PS3 games LittleBigPlanet and Resident Evil 5 have been confirmed to support Move functionality. A new title, Sports Champion, will feature several sports-related mini-games for use with the PlayStation Move.
Very much looking forward to Microsoft’s motion controller, too! Everyone stay tuned for Microsoft’s This Camera Tracks Your Movements!

Yes, that’s a type of cheese. Anyway…
Media Molecule has just announced the details of its upcoming LittleBigPlanet “Leerdammer” update, which adds a feature that sackboy fans around the world have been anticipating since the game’s release… the ability to create levels online with other players! Yay!
Also included in the update is improved network coding to significantly reduce lag during online play, changes to the way the game is saved, and extra profile space, alongside many other improvements.
The update goes life on November 30th.

In an interview with Critical Gamer, Media Molecule has dismissed the possibility of a LittleBigPlanet 2.
But don’t be sad Sackboy lovers; the opinion of Level Designer Danny Leaver is that making a second game would be ‘counterproductive’, as it would more than likely fragment the well-established LBP community, so they do have our best interests at heart.
We think you’ll agree the post-launch support in terms of DLC and software updates has been absolutely first rate, and Producer Martin Lynagh says ‘that’s the way it’s going to continue’, which makes us very happy indeed.
Media Molecule has just updated their blog with the announcement that Watchmen DLC will be hitting LittleBigPlanet in this Thursday’s PlayStation Store update.
Unfortunately, a naked blue Dr. Manhattan isn’t amongst the cast of characters, but you’ll still be able to dress up as Silk Spector, Rorschach, Night Owl, and Ozymandias!
Best sackboy costumes ever? Quite possibly.
Are you a Marvel fan who happens to own a PS3 with LittleBigPlanet? Then you’re in luck my friend and can praise the good lord Media Molecule, because Sackboy is getting a Marvel makeover.
The costumes were announced at a Comic Con panel, showing off Sackboys dressed as Captain America, Iron Man and, of course, Wolverine.
We don’t know when they’re coming, but speculation around the internet points towards the launch of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2. There’s no word on whether or not Iron Sackboy comes equipped with repulsor rays, or if Wolverine Sackboy’s claws can rip through anything.
Media Molecule are asking the question “Who you gonna call?” on their website. Those with half a brain and a memory of the 80’s and 90’s know the answer: The Ghostbusters.
So what will it be? Will we be seeing a Sackboy running around with a jumpsuit and Proton Pack, or maybe a Sackboy turned Slimer? Whatever it is, we can’t wait.
A pretty hefty update for the European PlayStation Store this week, including the full version of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, lots of Tiger Woods stuff, the Sacktue of Liberty, and more downloadable full games than you can sack a sackboy at!

As many of you probably already know by now, the king of pop, Michael Jackson, passed away this evening after suffering cardiac arrest. It’s a loss of the music industry, and the world, that will be felt for years.
We offer this small dedication to a wonderful artist, courtesy of LittleBigPlanet.
Team Ico fans rejoice! This Thursday, LittleBigPlanet will be receiving a new costume patch which will add not only characters from Team Ico self-named PS2 classic, Ico, but it’s spiritual sequel Shadow of the Colossus as well.
From Ico, Media Molecule will be adding sackboy costumes for Ico and Yorda from the first game.
Media Molecule has just updated their website with images of the costumes based on Shadow of the Colossus that will appear in their Team Ico costume pack, which includes sackboy variants of Wander and two different colossus seen in the game.
The pack won’t just include costumes though; Media Molecule has just confirmed that it will also come with stickers and sound effects as well.
Below are the wonderfully charming new Sackboy costumes in all their glory.

Sony made an interesting announcement as its Destination PlayStation even in the USA today… major PS3 franchise LittleBigPlanet and Motorstorm, alongside other franchises will be heading to the PSP!
Ubisoft franchise Assassin’s Creed game was also confirmed for the handheld, though what form it will take isn’t certain just yet.
“With a year of record sales ushering us into the new year, we continue to raise the bar on providing consumers the deepest and broadest entertainment content for every member of the family to enjoy,” said SCEA boss Jack Tretton.
“With new content being added every day to the PlayStation Network combined with an unmatched line up of exclusive titles on PSP, and the roll out of truly groundbreaking games such as Killzone 2 for PS3, we remain confident in our approach and strategy for another record year of growth and momentum.”
It looks like Sony really are serious about revitalising the somewhat software barren PSP in 2009 after all.

It’s the game that just keeps on giving… today, ELSPA has just awarded Media Molecule’s adorable LittleBigPlanet Gold Status, meaning that Sony’s flagship title has sold over 200,000 copies in the UK.
The game is continue to sell steadily despite dropping out of the UK Top Ten the week after its release, where it debuted at 4th place.
Sony has regularly labelled the game as an “evergreen” tittle, in that it will continue to sell for months to come, the company believes. Sony blamed a crowded holiday season for the title modest debut in the charts.
Personally, I don’t care where it is in the charts. It’s a beautiful game however it sells.
