Bizarre Creations is the UK studio famous for Blur and Project Gotham Racing, as well as downloadable darling Geometry Wars. Now it seems that Activision, that bought the studio in 2007, are shutting them down.
Speaking with IndustryGamers, president of SEGA Mike Hayes has stated that 36 SEGA West staff in San Francisco, as well as and 37 SEGA West staff in London, have been left off due to company restructuring – about12 percent of the division’s workforce. EA has just announced their plans to lay off an extra 400 staff members over and above the 600 redundancies it announced in October. The total sum of EA employees being laid off amounts to 1000 people, or 10% of the company’s total workforce.
