This is it people. It’s been 12 years since the first game, three years since the title was announced, half a year since beta testing started, and now the game is purchasable and playable! You could be playing StarCraft II right now.
The game launched today, worldwide. You can either get it from your retailer, or buy a digital version from Blizzard themselves. Personally, I ended up getting the Collectors Edition, that includes the game, an art book, a soundtrack CD, a comic book, some in-game items (including a WoW pet) and a USB thumb drive shaped like Jim Raynor’s dog-tag, complete with the original game and the Brood War expansion on it.
Really, how could I resist?
Blizzard is set to release the WoW expansion Cataclysm later this year, and if they make it in time, this will be the first year since 1998 they ship two products in the same year (SC & Brood Wars). Crazy!
