One of the more interesting things to come out of this year’s Quake-Con was a brand new trailer detailing the ‘lost missions’, a series of previously unreleased missions for the forthcoming Doom 3: BFG edition.

Today Wolfenstein 3D turns 20! And to celebrate id Software has made it free on both iOS and in browser. Which is cool and all, but not quite as cool as John Carmack providing a director commentary of the game.  Watch and listen after the cut.

Dark Horse Comics will be publishing a 3 issue comic series based on the upcoming id Software game Rage. The first issue is scheduled for June 22nd. The series will be written by Rex Mundi writer Arvid Nelson with art by Andrew Mutti.

Shinji Mikami, creator and spearhead of the Resident Evil franchise, founded his new studio recently, called Tango Gamesworks. Today it was revealed that Tango is now owned by Zenimax Media, the company that owns Bethesda Softworks, and recently aquired id Software.

Bethesda’s parent company Zenimax has now completely bought up id Software. The reason?
