Pokémon Black and White have sold an exorbitant amount over their first two days of release in Japan — 2.63 million units, to be exact (via Kotaku). Before that, the games had already hit over 1 million pre-orders. And people said Japanese gaming was dead. We Westerners will be getting Black and White next spring, so I hope you’ve finished HeartGold and SoulSilver by now!

In an announcement that will surprise nobody, the PSP is going strong in Japan right now – in fact, it’s currently the highest selling piece of hardware in the country. Last week, the PSP sold over 37,000 units, with the Wii coming a close second with just 36,000 units sold. The PS3 comes in third with just over 27,000 consoles sold this week.
