Gamescom has announced its awards for software hits and hardware trends. Topping the list is Battlefield 3 with the Best of Gamescom award. Surprisingly Nintendo, with no new hardware debuts, walks away with nothing this year, but the Playstation Vita gets a nod with a win in the Best Hardware category. Game Informer recently published a fairly comprehensive release schedule for the major titles being released across all formats in the next 12 months.
