Ah, Bethesda, you spoil us so. To celebrate the The Elder Scrolls’ 15th Anniversary, Bethesda has generously decided to release The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall as a free download.

Hit the link to get your miserly fingers on this classic gem.

As you can probably guess, the game requires DOS to play, which hasn’t been a standard part of Windows in years. Check out the perfectly legal DOSBox emulator, which will go a long way in helping you to get this (and many other old games) running smoothly on modern PCs.

]]> A news Elder Scrolls game has always been a big deal amongst western RPG fans, so it’s time to rejoice, Bethesda announced today that it’s likely to publish a new Elder Scrolls game in 2010.

“At the moment we’ve got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there’s a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010,” stated Bethesda publishing executive Paul Oughton to the press today.

“At the moment we’re not that interested in the Wii. We’re going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. We’ll continue to pursue three or four titles a year and go for big titles,” he added, when discussing the company’s publishing plans for the future.

So only two years to wait then, eh? It’ll be hear before we know it!
