Fancy signing up for Bethesda‘s The Elder Scrolls Online beta? Well now you can as the official site has now opened the gates and is allowing beta signups. In case you didn’t know, Planetside 2 is a MMOFPS which has thousands upon thousands of folk blasting the bejeezus out of each other in the name of an intergalactic land-grab. To celebrate its open beta status, developers Sony Online Entertainment have released a Gamescom gameplay trailer showing off the massive battles and persistent conflict which will arguably be Planetside 2′s hallmark and primary lure.
We all expected it, now EA has finally come out and confirmed that the apparent leak which occurred a few days ago regarding beta access for the yet-to-be-announced Battlefield 4, was in fact completely true and that the game itself is a real thing. Its so real in fact, that it’s happening sometime in ‘Fall 2013′ – meaning that the title likely won’t see a release until at least early 2014.
Subtlety is the name of the game, except the name of the game is actually Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. More specifically, the beta of the multiplayer of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The beta ran for a couple of weeks, first only for PlayStation Plus members and invitees, but after a while it opened up for everyone with a PS3.
If you pre-ordered Battlefield 3 through Origin or bought the Limited Edition Medal of Honor, feel free to take the rest of the day off while sitting in front of Gmail hitting F5. The beta codes will start being sent out between 1 -3 p.m. CET via e-mail. Didn’t pre-order? Guess you’ll have to wait until Thursday when the beta goes public.
If you weren’t one of the chosen few to get into the Diablo III beta you can still watch the action. IGN‘s Anthony Gallegos and Charles Onyett recorded the entire playthrough of the beta including skill trees and the Battle.net system. Starting at 10 a.m. (PST) tommorrow the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations beta will be open for all PSN users to download. The beta will only be open until the 11th so it might be wise to clear your schedules until then so you get to experience the game fully in such a short amount of time.
