Finally! Crackdown 2 has just received an official release date in the UK. The title will be hitting shelves in the country on July 9.
Ruffian’s also released the first ViDoc for the game.
A summer release was originally mentioned a few months ago by Ruffian Games, but this is the first confirmation of an exact release date.

Anyone who has been a fan of gaming for a while now is more than familiar with Insomniac Games, long time supporters of the PlayStation formats and creators of famous franchises such as Spyro the Dragon and Ratchet and Clank. If certain rumours are to be believed though, this exclusive support may soon come to an end.
A “trusted source” who spoke to IGN anonymously during GDC claims that the company intends to go multi-platform.
Existing franchise are, as far as we know, locked into exclusivity on the PS3 for now, but this does not stop the company from creating a new franchise for the other existing consoles, the Xbox 360 and the Wii.
Insomniac is refusing to comment on this rumour for the time being, but we’ll let you know if something comes of it. I personally would be extremely surprised if this turned out to be true.
Max Schaefer, CEO of Runic games, the developers behind PC Action RPG Torchlight, said that the game may be headed to consoles and that a “serious effort” is being put into the idea.
“We’re going to put some serious effort into it — pretty quick — getting ‘Torchlight’ onto consoles,” Schaefer said.
“There’s a lot of really cool things about the console world, too, that would work well with our game.”
For fans of Diablo and Diablo-type games, Torchlight is an excellent addition to the genre, especially since Diablo III won’t be seen on PC for at least another hundred years or so.
Wow! Harmonix are relentless with the releases! More songs are up on the Rock Band Network as of today (in addition to the already announced Lady Gaga songs on the way).
In what most people would believe is a sign of the Apocalypse, Lady Gaga is not only dominating mainstream media, but now making her way into video games. First it was LIPS, and now she’ll be appearing in a four-song DLC pack for Rock Band and Rock Band 2 on March 16th.
Not only that, we also have The Subways, Mute Math, 3 Doors Down, and the notorious Eric Cartman with his own version of “Poker Face” as seen on South Park.

Well, here it is, folks. The next single-band installment from Harmonix, Green Day: Rock Band, has been announced for a worldwide release of June 8th, 2010 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii consoles.

Capcom has just announced the final character in the Super Street Fighter IV line-up, a new character by the name of Hakan.
Lets just say he’s… different, and leave it at that.
The video is under the cut, if you’re willing to take the dive.
In an announcement that will surprise no-one, Microsoft has stated today that the brunt of its Natal line-up with be show off at this year’s E3.
“We have very strong first and third-party developer support for [Natal]. Needless to say, we’re putting some of our best people on coming up with great game ideas for this, and we’re going to have some great stuff,” said Microsoft CFO Mindy Mount, speaking at the Jefferies Annual Global Technology Conference in New York today.
“As a history, Microsoft works very strong with third-party developers, so we’re hoping that we’re going to get some great titles from that. You’ll be able to see more news about that this summer at E3. We’ll show you the full line-up.”
The yet-to-be-officially-named motion-capturing gaming device, Natal, is currently rumoured for an October release date. This journalist, personally, is very excited about seeing what Microsoft has to reveal for the device at this year’s E3.
In a move that shows that can only be described as “desperate,” Microsoft is releasing a new Xbox 360 Elite bundle next week that comes with overhyped-and-undersold titles Halo 3: ODST and Forza Motorsports 3.
Gotta get rid of those copies somehow, right?
The bundle gets released on March 9th for $299 and you can pre-order it right now on Amazon.
Good deal if you don’t already have a 360. Maybe you can use the trade in value of the two games included for something you’ll actually play and have fun with.
Update: GameStop has Portal 2 down for $49.99 and to ship October 26th of this year.
The new single-player will also feature a new cast character, fresh new puzzles and a larger set of “devious test chambers.” In addition, characters will explore new areas of the Aperture Science Laboratories and be reunited with sometimes-murderous A.I., GLaDOS.
The multiplayer mode will also offer cooperative play and not only require you to play cooperatively but to think cooperatively as well.
Original: Valve’s Doug Lombardi told Eurogamer that Portal 2 is hitting the PC and 360 this holiday season!
Probably not going to make it to the PS3, because that was an EA endeavor – Valve handled the 360 and PC versions.
Not only that, Game Informer said that Portal 2 is to be the cover star of the next issue!
I sure hope there’s cake!
You ever wanted to be manly?
So manly that you punched things so hard that they go into other dimensions?
Hell yeah, you have!
Well, Tecmo Koei’s rendition of popular manga Fist of the North Star will be seeing Japanese shores this month, but will also be released in Europe in the summer.
Needless to say, you get to punch things.

In an announcement that will surprise nobody, the PSP is going strong in Japan right now – in fact, it’s currently the highest selling piece of hardware in the country.
Last week, the PSP sold over 37,000 units, with the Wii coming a close second with just 36,000 units sold. The PS3 comes in third with just over 27,000 consoles sold this week.

Well, it’s about time that Final Fantasy XIII reviews showed up online after being suppressed for so long. And now, days away from its release, we in North America and Europe can finally know what the big names in games have said.

Boss of Grasshopper Manufacture Goichi Suda (otherwise known as Suda-51) is known for being one of the biggest auteurs within the games industry. The man is known for producing some fairly quirky, but very original games. So what’s next for Suda-51? Project Natal and PlayStation Arc.
In an interview with GameSpot UK, Suda said he was interested in making games geared towards the new forms of motion control.
“I will make some original IP to fit that control system.”
That’s basically a confirmation, isn’t it?
He also expressed an interest in making a game similar to Heavy Rain, but said such an endeavor would be difficult to make with “the current generation” of Japanese game developers.
