Starting now through January 6th, 2013, if you purchase one of five select digital titles from the Nintendo 3DS eShop, you can get yourself a rare version of the NES Donkey Kong. When originally released in arcades, Donkey Kong featured four different stages. Due to memory restrictions on the NES, only three of those stages made the NES game. This all new digital bonus features the NES version of the game with all four stages including the Cement Factory for the first time!

Getting the game is simple. First, make sure your 3DS is linked to your Club Nintendo account. Then, purchase and register the DIGITAL version of Crosswords Plus, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, Style Savvy: Trendsetters, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, or Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Finally you should receive a download token for the Donkey Kong: Original Edition game within 3-4 weeks after purchase.

Again, the key word in all of this is DIGITAL. This will not work with retail copies of the game. This is all part of Nintendo‘s new focus on pushing their digital eShop releases! I, for one, will be dropping $29.99 on Crosswords Plus when I get money, and when I get my 3DS XL system back from Nintendo. Yay for toddlers dropping expensive gaming devices!

There is a new Star Wars game coming to XBLA.

Well, its kinda new, trademarking stuffs had been leaked for it a couple of months back, but now we have a single solitary piece of cover art that was leaked on Xbox.com just moments ago.

Want to see it?  Of course you do, don’t be simple.  You’ll find it and a metric-ton of rampant speculation after the jump.

Do you like politics? Do you like to watch Presidential Candidates bicker and say how stupid the other guy is? Do you love watching videos on a game console? Do you love free Xbox Avatar outfits? If you said yes to any of those (or probably just the last one) this post is for YOU!

To celebrate the upcoming election, Xbox is going to be streaming four Presidential Debates on Xbox Live! Those events will be held in real time from 9-10:30 PM eastern on October 2nd, 11th, 16th, and 22nd. Even better, to make you want to care about politics, if you watch 30 minutes or more of at least three of those debates, you’ll score yourself a free Xbox Avatar outfit. Oh, and not just any outfit, no sir! A golden Halo 4 Warrior Armor outfit. MOTHEREFFING GOLD!

To get more info, a better look at the armor, and a FAQ featuring a whopping three questions, check out the Election 2012 page over on Xbox.com!

PS Vita owners, get ready to get your top down dungeon crawler on next week when a demo for Silent Hill: Book of Memories hits PSN! Many people out there have bitched, whined, and complained that the game isn’t true to the Silent Hill roots, and apparently a good number of European Vita owners have changed their tune after trying out the demo for the game and finding out that it’s actually fun! Imagine that, a game that’s fun.

All of us Americans finally get to check out the demo as well next week and I am personally excited for the game. I’m not that great with survival horror games, but I LOVE top down dungeon crawlers and the fact that WayForward is behind the game only sweetens the deal for me! Mixing an awesome developer with a fun genre sounds like a winner in my book and we will all get to check out the results next week before the game hits store shelves on October 16th!

For a refresher, check out the brand new launch trailer for the game after the jump!

Some good news out there for us Limited Edition consumer whores! Konami announced that both Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Zone of the Enders HD Collection are getting fancy Limited Editions! Because people like me can’t be happy with just a game. No. People like me? We need art books and soundtracks and trinkets and all that other happy horses–t. We cannot be pleased with JUST a game…

Anyways, Zone of the Enders HD Collection is getting a soundtrack and an art book tossed in with the game (which also features a demo of Metal Gear Rising) and the package supposedly looks to run $60 when it comes out October 30th. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is adding the usual soundtrack as well as a “high frequency plasma lamp” featuring the sword of Raiden, which is fancy talk for those balls they sell at Spencers that have the electricity in them and when you touch it the electricity goes to your hand. But with a sword in it. No price for that one yet, but I guess we will find out when the February 19th release date gets a little closer!

You read that right. Two full games for only $15. Total.

You’ve only got 48 hours (starting two hours ago, agh!) to grab two games of your choice for the low, low price of “buy one at half off, get another one free.”

The list includes all the titles in the banner, but if you’re in any way confused, the games are: Binary Domain, Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, Men of War: Assault Squad Game of the Year Edition, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Stronghold 3 Gold Edition, and Civilization V.

Seems that this version of Civ V isn’t the Game of the Year Edition, which is strange.

It’s Friday which mean’s it’s time to see what’s been going on in the world of Rock Band and Rock Band Blitz! This week I am abso-effing-lutely excited to say that next week’s DLC is a three pack from 311!! Get the full details for the 3 pack as well as all of the usual Rock Band Network info!
