I wouldn’t chalk this up to the best deal that Sony‘s had with the recent line of even slimmer PlayStation 3s, but if you look at how good PlayStation Plus is, it might be the best deal available over time for the price.

With a brand new console color, in what’s called a “Classic White,” this iteration of the Super Slim PS3 comes packed away with a 500 GB hard drive and a year of Sony’s online service all for $299.99.

To learn more about the upcoming iteration, click here.

In the first bit of DLC coming for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, supposedly coming this month, we have Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawak, both previously announced as additional fighters.

Trailers for each one under the cut!

Just Add Water, or JAW as they are known, are the developer which has been hammering away on games based on the Oddworld Inhabitants franchise of games.

Indeed, right this very second, they are working mercilessly, tirelessly on Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee New ‘n’ Tasty; a brand new HD re-imagining of the very first Oddworld title.

Still despite this, they are keen to tap into the fan base to see what you guys would want to see from the next Oddworld game via a survey located on the official Oddworld website.

The things you can vote for include:

At the time of writing, Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus HD is top of people’s wants and considering how well New ‘n’ Tasty is coming along, I can’t imagine Abe’s Exoddus in HD being anything less than great.

Though the hugely epic sounding “The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot” sounds mighty enticing too.

Go on, stop being a miserable sod and cast your vote.

In addition to the Luigi’s Mansion and Monster Hunter dates being revealed today, Nintendo also announced that LEGO City Undercover is hitting the Wii U on March 18th, my birthday. Now that you know that date, I expect all of our readers to shower me with riches.

In addition to that, LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins will be hitting the Nintendo 3DS on April 21st. This title will be a prequel to the Wii U title and follows Chase McCain as a rookie cop.

I’m pretty excited to see a firm launch date for LEGO City Undercover. It’s been one of the big titles I’ve been waiting for when it comes to the Wii U. The fact that it’s hitting on my birthday makes it so much sweeter, not to mention being followed up the next day by Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate!

Nintendo in all their wisdom and general awesomeness have today confirmed that their 3DS Luigi’s Mansion follow-up, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, has secured itself a North American release date of March 24th.

A European release date has yet to be confirmed, but honestly, I don’t think it will be one too far removed from our American cousins.

Stay tuned!

Publisher Deep Silver and developer Southend Interactive (those talented bods behind the Windows hit ilomilo) have today announced Sacred Citadel, a side-scrolling, co-op friendly PSN brawler for Playstation 3 which takes place against  the Sacred RPG setting that Deep Silver are renowned for being involved with.

Like any scrolling smasher worth its salt/sugar/blood, Sacred Citadel gives you a variety of different characters with which to laterally move through a number of levels, hacking, slashing, shooting and generally being a massive and quite fatal jerk to anyone in your path.

There are of course the obligatory vehicles, special powers and boss characters (with one, as shown in the trailer, bearing more than a passing resemblance to a certain Colossi).

For fans of the Sacred RPG series, you’ll be pleased to know that the game feeds directly into the lore for the forthcoming Sacred 3, a fact that should hopefully pique your interest in this fun looking scrolling scrapper.

Trailer duties have been fulfilled after the break ladies and gents.

Do you like stabbing colourful and exotic beasties in the face with all-manner of hand-crafted implements of violence? Do you like warding off their blows with some custom-made armour?  How about exploring the wilderness and speaking to maddening cat-people?  Do you like that too?

If so and assuming you own a Wii U of course, Capcom pretty much have you covered as they’ve just confirmed that Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate launches in North America on March 19th, with a European debut following three days later on March 22nd.

Before that though, you can dabble your feet in the open-world beastie slaughter by grabbing yourself a download of the demo which is scheduled to manifest itself on February 21st.

To celebrate the announcement Capcom have released a trailer which, you guessed it, will be stroking your eyeballs after the break.

UPDATE

According to a Lucasarts spokeswoman the German Playstation Facebook entry regarding Star Wars 1313 is “inaccurate” and went on to say “We have not confirmed any platforms yet for 1313 and do not have any announcements to make at this time.”

Spoilsport.

Star Wars 1313 was originally thought to be one of the fruits of Eden (Ubisoft‘s insanely beautiful Watch Dog being another) that would tempt us to bankrupt ourselves in the pursuit of buying one of those next-generation consoles that would hit the market in the next twelve months or so.

If an update on the official Playstation German Facebook page is to believed however and extremely beautiful, but potentially quite shallow Star Wars themed shooters are your thing, then you might be relieved to hear that Star Wars 1313 is reported to launch later this year on the good ol’ Playstation 3.

It was initially thought that the maturely themed bounty-hunter Star Wars spin-off would be a sure-fire lock for next-generation hardware when the initial footage of the game showed a title with visuals seemingly unachievable on this generation of hardware.  It also didn’t help that they were being overly coy buggers and not listing the destination platforms at the end of the footage either.

Later on, the whole situation got deflated a little bit when Epic Games confirmed that in fact Star Was 1313 was running off a tweaked version of the current and widely used Unreal Engine 3 (and not the next-gen primed Unreal Engine 4).

This of course, brought the realisation crashing home that in all likelihood, the footage shown was being rendered on some PC rig somewhere with the sort of specification that makes the game look better than it ever would look on the current-gen lumps of plastic and misery squatting underneath our TV’s.

Lucasarts though for their part, have still yet to announce the platforms that the game will release on (I personally believe it will be a cross-generational title), so the mystery continues I guess.

Teasing bastards.
