Bioware’s Greg Zeschuk just showed up on the EA stage showing off another pre-rendered trailer for The Old Republic. No gameplay was shown in the trailer, just like the presentation last year. The trailer contained new and old clips, mashed together in a pretty cool looking trailer. At one point one could see a man in a Crocodile Dundee hat.
After quite a smashing opening, EA showed the first official gameplay of their latest Need For Speed offering: Need For Speed: The Run. Developed by Blackbox Studios, the game involves the player running from the West Coast to New York in all matter of high speed chases. There’s one big difference though. There are sequences where you actually get out of the car and run around. On-foot chases with a [...]
At E3 2011, Electronic Arts announced the latest in the Mass Effect series, Mass Effect 3. The game appears to have a combat similar to Mass Effect 2. In the trailer and demo are familiar characters, Zaeed, Mordin, Legion, and Shepard. In the demo, Shepard battles a full-sized Reaper and calls an orbital strike, and takes a nasty fall. Mass Effect 3 is due out March 6, 2012.
The latest Tomb Raider game was shown off during Microsoft’s E3 press conference earlier today. And by god is it dark! We’ve already been promised a more “darker turn” in Lara Croft’s story, but right now, Tomb Raider looks like a game made for sadists. Lara wades through mud, breaks her arm, is attacked by creepy men and moans a lot. “Intense and visceral”, just the words I needed to [...]
At the end of Microsoft’s E3 Conference, a teaser trailer of the rumored Halo 4 was revealed. It showed Master Chief waking up from the cryo-sleep he entered in in Halo 3, recovering Cortana, and jumping through the destroyed wreck of the ship he’s on. The trailer ended with him having a staring contest with a Forerunner-like planet. Trailer is below the cut
At the Microsoft conference at E3, it was announced that a new Kinect feature, Kinect FunLabs, will be added into the growing Kinect library. First shown was an avatar creator, which captures facial features, hair, and clothing to make a custom avatar that looks just like you. Second announced was Kinect Finger Tracking which takes the kinect 3d sensing ability and allows you to draw with your finger on any [...]
Marc Whitten is on stage, showing us “the New Xbox Experience” (making this the third one of those). This fall, your black or white box will be able to stream TV from selected providers; sport a new dashboard with fully integrated Kinect voice navigation, not just in a separate Kinect menu; the ability to search with Bing everywhere on the box, and integrated YouTube. We will have more details on [...]
In an unprecedented move, Ubisoft revealed the long-quiet Ghost Recon: Future Soldier during Microsoft’s E3 Conference. Showing off a pre-rendered trailer at first, Yves Guillemot came on stage to confirm that Future Soldier will include Kinect features. The one they specifically showed was called “Gunsmith”, a gun customization system that seems to be one of the most in-depth weapon customization systems I’ve ever seen. After the demo ended, Guillemot went [...]
