Looks like the retail release rush is hitting the Nintendo 3DS eShop this week with four 3DS classics hitting along with a fifth new release on Sunday. Toss in a demo, a puzzler, an NES Virtual Console title and a sparkly camera app and it makes for a pretty loaded eShop update. Oh. And WiiWare gets a fishing game.
Easily the biggest PlayStation Plus news for this week is that us PS Plus users are getting early access to the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale beta. I don’t know why it’s called a beta. Seems like a normal demo to me considering the game ships in a month, but there is mention of online tournaments, so perhaps the “beta” aspect is testing the servers to make sure they actually work [...]
Looks like another variety pack mix of singles hitting Rock Band 3 and Rock Band Blitz next week! Sheryl Crow, Three Days Grace, and a Save Ferris cover all hitting the store on Tuesday. Also, this post is up late because I slept in. Yay for being behind! Get the full details as well as the usual Rock Band Network info after the jump!
Oh Mario Golf. What a fantastic game. Seems like the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance versions were wildly different from the N64/GameCube versions due to an emphasis on RPG like elements. Shame Camelot never made an RPG styled Mario Golf for the home consoles. Nevertheless, today’s Nintendo eShop brings us the Game Boy Color version of Mario Golf along with a Virtual Console title on the Wii, a [...]
Everybody was pretty surprised when Gearbox moved the release date of Gaige the Mechromancer in Borderlands 2 from next Tuesday to this past Tuesday. Well they are at it again… Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, the first official campaign DLC for Borderlands 2 is releasing…. On Tuesday! It is the first of four campaign add-on’s announced by Gearbox and will run $9.99 on PS3/PC and 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox [...]
In a surprising bit of news, Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox, just tweeted out that Gaige, the Mechromancer class in Borderlands 2, is launching a full week early and should be available TODAY on all platforms! Damn, this is gonna be an insane day of gaming. Dishonored and XCOM are both out at retail, Walking Dead Episode 4 releases, Retro City Rampage launches on PC/PS3/Vita, and now the new Borderlands [...]

You can go check out all the perks in all [...]
I gotta say, I’m starting to get fed up with PlayStation Plus. Before E3, we had a full slate of new freebies each month and since they started their “Instant Game Collection” initiative, the offerings have quickly worsened. Almost half of the 12 freebies are still holdovers from E3, which is ridiculous. Do people STILL need Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine, Sideways NY, and especially Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One [...]
When it’s ROCKTOBER, you expect to rock the F out each and every week in Rock Band and Harmonix has you covered with some face melting hardcore ROCK with A Flock of Seagulls and Billy Squier! We’re used to Nintendo only giving us a few things each week on their eShop updates. This week, though? This week is jam packed with releases. Digital releases of retail games, standard digital releases, WiiWare, a Game Boy Virtual Console release, a demo, even some New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC! Get the full list after the break and stick around until after the list for even more news on [...]
