After Japanese publication Shonen Jump leaked the existence of Final Fantasy X-2 HD on both PS3 and PS Vita, Sony have now gone and made an announcement confirming not only the leak, but also that both games will launch this year worldwide.

Also, to top everything off, we have some gorgeous, high-resolution veneered screenies for you to take a look at after the break.

As previously thought, both games will be bundled together on the PS3 and will be called FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster, while the two HD updated games will be sold separately for the PS Vita.  In addition to what appears to be a extremely sharp looking HD update, these iterations of the PS2 era JRPG‘s will also be the feature-rich ‘International’ versions that previously have only been available in Japan.

The International version of Final Fantasy X for example, includes an Expert version of the Sphere Grid, new abilities and brand new hard-as-nails superbosses (Dark Aeons and Penance) for you to tangle with as well as a whole host  of other improvements.

The details of the International version of Final Fantasy X-2 on the other hand, remain tightly under wraps at the minute and Square-Enix has said that they intend to announce details of those new features as we get closer to the release of the games.

An official site has also opened for the remastered games too, promising a trailer on Monday.  Naturally, here at The Gaming Vault, we’ll have your bases covered in this regard.
