Earlier this afternoon Electronic Arts held a conference call for investors at the Morgan Stanley technology conference. A few interesting tidbits were revealed including points on FIFA 14 and Battlefield 4 (more on those in a moment).
In addition to game details EA theorized that next gen machines will be about “eight to ten times the power of current gen consoles.” It was also implied that Microsoft and Sony would be launching their consoles very close together.
EA also stated they will continue to support retail in addition to digital distribution. EA surreptitiously mentioned that next generation titles could launch at an increased price point of $69.99, but again implied if that is what the industry decides as a standard.
The bigger news for FIFA 14 is that it is indeed coming out on Playstation 4 and all current gen consoles, what does this mean for the rest of the EA Sports stable?
Battlefield 4 “looks amazing” and it was implied they are targeting 1080p and 60 frames per second with the title. It was further implied that all next gen games are targeting this.
So there you have it, not a whole lot of news that you couldn’t imagine yourself, but it’s nice to have confirmation straight from the ole horses mouth.
