A number of NeoGAF users are today reporting that Wii U consoles bought second-hand are able to access and download previously purchased titles.

It appears that downloadable content is tied to the console instead of a specific user ID.

Conversely, for folks who want to transfer their content from one console to another, they have to send their machine to the Big N and arrange it to be done that way.

Still though, if you’re purchasing a pre-owned Wii U console, you might want to check the downloadable history as there could be a nice little clutch of freebies for you.
