The Level 5 and Studio Ghibli collaboration Ni No Kuni released this week for the PS3 to near universal acclaim and a good number of people out there were lucky enough to place an order for the highly limited Ni No Kuni Wizard’s Edition that was sold exclusively through the Namco Online Shop. Unfortunately, it looks like TOO many people placed that order and there are some pissed off customers who won’t be getting what they thought they bought.

Digital River, a name that makes most online shoppers shudder in fear, claims that “an error in [their] ordering system” caused them to accept more orders than there was stock available. A spokesperson says that affected customers will be contacted with additional information on the error, and hopefully they’ll figure out some way to make up for this monumental F-up.

Hopefully none of our readers will suffer due to yet another Digital River blunder. Thankfully, my copy of the Ni No Kuni Wizard’s Edition is in transit to me, so I can sleep peacefully tonight.
