Many folks, myself included, are getting excited for the impending February 4th release of Fire Emblem: Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS. If you don’t HAVE a 3DS yet and are excited for the game, it’s high time to kill two birds with one stone!

Nintendo revealed in a Tweet that the US will be getting a limited edition Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS system and Fire Emblem: Awakening will be pre-installed right on the system’s SD card as well! Now the bad news. It’s NOT a 3DS XL. Seems weird to release a much better and more comfortable version of a handheld, and then release a special edition in the older version. Lord knows if it were an XL I’d be saving up for my 4th 3DS system…

No definitive word on a price or release on the system, though I’d imagine it launches on Feb. 4th with the game. Given that the current bundles are going for $169.99, that seems like a good guess on the price as well. Nintendo says more details will arrive shortly, and you can get a nice look at the intricate design on the system after the jump!

Such a sexy design. Shame it’s not an XL.
