As mentioned in the Nintendo Direct press event, the first Wii U Virtual Console game is now available ahead of the projected “Spring” date set for the system update and official Wii U Virtual Console launch.

It was announced that directly after the press event, Balloon Fight would be the first game available as part of the Famicom 30th Anniversary promotion where a select Virtual Console title will be available for only 30 cents for 30 days. After those 30 days, the price will go back to standard Virtual Console pricing.

The header image is from my own personal GamePad, so yes, Balloon Fight is live NOW. It’s not on the main page, so you’ll have to do a search for it, but it’s there and it’s only $0.30! Grab the game now and hit the jump for the full monthly lineup of promo games!
