At a special Nintendo Direct briefing today, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced two new Pokemon titles for the 3DS to be released this year.
Best of all the new Pokemon titles, known as Pokemon X & Pokemon Y, will be in proper 3D – a first for the core games in the series. There’s just something so inherently cool about Pokemon finally making the leap into the third dimension eh?
And, because we love you guys to bits and everything, we have the first in-game trailer for you after the break.
Pokemon X & Y are both due exclusively on the 3DS worldwide this October.

My only disappointment with this is that the best graphics shown in the video all say “Does not represent actual game footage” because really, the 3DS is capable of pretty great resolution, and the stuff shown in the trailer is a bit underwhelming in that aspect.
But hey! A fully fleshed out 3D world for Pokémon! Yes!
