PSPlusVitaUS

Sure. I open my damn mouth about there being no US details revealed for the Vita PlayStation Plus service and just like that, Sony goes and reveals the US lineup to make me look dumb…

ANYWAYS. Details for us in the US. It launches next Monday, the 19th, and has the same PS Plus perks we all know and love. Discounts, 1GB of cloud storage, automatic game updates, and in a shocking move, where the European launch is expected to have 4 games, SCEA is giving us SIX games! Not sure if we will always have 6 titles, or how many additions we will see each month, but for a shining, glimmering moment, we have something special.

Our launch lineup will be Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, WipEout 2048, Jet Set Radio HD, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!, and the PSP release Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. Looks like a REALLY solid lineup. Now to hope that Sony not only doesn’t screw this up by having half the same games still be there in 5 months, but to also release a memory stick bigger than 32GB because mine is jam freakin’ packed right now.

I have a question – Do you have to purchase a PS Plus account for your PS3 and then a separate PS Plus account for your Vita, or are they linked?

  2. They’re linked. Your PSN ID works across both.

That’s pretty stellar. I may finally have to break down and grab a PS3 when/if they release a PS3/Vita combo pack.

Yeah, unlike Nintendo and (so far) their wonky bullshit when it comes to accounts (which hopefully ends with the WiiU), all of your PSN stuff is linked across PS3, PSP, and PS Vita.
That’s really helpful when it comes to cross-buy stuff like the Zen Pinball and Pinball Arcade tables and certain games as well.
It’s really a good thing they’ve done, because honestly, still to this day, I absolutely hate my PS3, but damn do I love the Vita.
It’s weird too. I loved the PSone, I loved the PS2, I love the PSP and the Vita. I HATE the PS3. I hate the design, I hate the controller, I hate the online, I hate the store (even moreso now with the shitty new design), and I hate the system UI. Oh. And the fact that they’ve consistently removed features over the past how many years… I sold it once already (which I regret given it was a backwards compatible model) and I’ve been tempted to sell it again. I just hate the damn thing.
I go off on tangents a lot.
