IGN reports that Gamestop has begun advertising a Collector’s Edition of The Walking Dead for Xbox 360 and PS3. This edition will be $69.99 and will include the game (of course), a fancy collector’s edition box, as well as a 1,000 page compendium which in itself includes the first 48 issues of The Walking Dead comic. It’s assumed that the Collector’s Edition will be released on December 4th, the same day that the standard disc release is set for.

At the moment, Gamestop only has the standard edition listed on their website, and the above image is the only proof that such an edition will come, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer to get an online preorder in. In the meantime, our own John-Paul Jones has been reviewing the individual episodes as they come out, and while I may not agree with him on certain points, we both agree that it’s pretty damn good.

IGN has a much nicer shot of the packaging and contents up now. Looks gorgeous. I’m guessing it’s finally time for me to give this series a shot when that edition releases…
i wont support telltale anymore for how they released this game. they sold the season pass and said each month a new one would be out and after the first month they backed out and said itll just be finished when its finished. so they sold a game that wasnt even finished which ruined the game because theres such a gap in between downloads that you forgot wtf is going on in the game and as soon as you get back into the game the episode ends and u have to wait another 3 months. i really think that they ran out of money and released it early to get money to finish the game. the game is fun but its not much of a game its more like a movie where you pick option a or option b. towards the later episodes you can tell they were just rushing to finish the game because the options barely show up at all it just turns into dialog mostly.
The delays were caused by the console manufacturers dragging out the certification process. It had nothing to do with them releasing something that “wasn’t finished”. Every episode bar the second one was released within a consistent timeframe.
