Edmund McMillen, creator of the hair tearingly difficult Super Meat Boy has confirmed via his blog that their next game will be Mew-Genics, a game with random generated elements about cats.
Check out the details after the break.
According to McMillen, the game is the strangest he has ever worked on (this coming from one of the twisted minds behind The Binding of Issac) and had this to say regarding the game:
“Mew-Genics is by far the strangest project I’ve ever worked on.. and that’s saying something. Tommy and i are very happy with how development has been going on it and decided that Mew-Genics will be the next official Team Meat game. We don’t want to spoil too much here, but we can say the game will be randomly generated, strange and involve cats.”
As you can see from his comments above, Team Meat is light on actual details for the game such as destination platforms and such, but one interesting tidbit to come from the blog is that the forthcoming iOS/Android version of Super Meat Boy, titled Super Meat Boy: The Game, will be put on hold until Mew-Genics has been completed.
Anything that comes out of their immeasurably warped imaginations has got to be worth a look and I don’t see this newest game being any different.
