KOFXIII

I gotta say, I’m starting to get fed up with PlayStation Plus. Before E3, we had a full slate of new freebies each month and since they started their “Instant Game Collection” initiative, the offerings have quickly worsened. Almost half of the 12 freebies are still holdovers from E3, which is ridiculous. Do people STILL need Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine, Sideways NY, and especially Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One in their PS+ freebies section? It’s been MONTHS Sony, change it up guys!

Tomorrow? Hoo boy! Us lucky members get one whole new PS3 game! Tomorrow’s new freebie is King of Fighters XIII, which isn’t a bad game, but what happened to a bunch of new games each month? Am I alone in my feelings on this? Are YOU happy with how PlayStation Plus has been updating knowing that Europeans have games like Red Dead Redemption for free and we got NFL Blitz?

Two other things to note are some new PS+ exclusive discounts. First, you can grab new release Derrick the Deathfin for $5.59, reduced from $7.99. Also, following in Alex Kidd‘s footsteps from this past week, you can grab The Revenge of Shinobi for only $1 this week, which honestly, you’d be out of your mind to pass that bargain up. Great game!

Quit your whining.. at least they’re doing them every week instead of once a month like originally intended.

I’ll quit my whining when they make the service as good as it USED to be pre-E3. Or at least until they get rid of all the E3 holdovers. There’s no excuse to not change all the games out over the span of FOUR MONTHS.

  3. The whole point of the Instant Collection is that it’s always there.

Personally, I have no complaints with the games we’re getting at the moment. Consider the cost, the value is great, and I can’t imagine this will be the only game for the whole month.

Michael, consider what we used to get BEFORE E3. We got a full new slate of 6+ games every month. All new stuff every month. No holdovers that stick around for 4 months. If you missed something one month, it was gone, but you had another half dozen or more new things to look forward to the next month.
Now? We get so much less. It seems like more because there’s always a set number available, but it’s the same stuff!
