After an extended period in closed and open beta testing phases, Sony Online Entertainment has at last confirmed the release date for their forthcoming free-to-play Planetside sequel.

Planetside 2 will release on November 20th this year.

Given just how compellingly brilliant the beta is, I’d say that would be a date to put in your diary.

Oh and there’s more after break.  Not just words, but pretty moving pictures too.

In addition to the two continents that the beta versions of the game has had, Planetside 2 will launch with a third; Amerish, a dank, swampy and rather miserable place all things told.

Planetside 2 will release on PC on November 2oth with a Mac version of the game to follow shortly after.
