The dudes over at Joystiq have done a little digging around and found out that the new NBA Kinect game for the Xbox 360, NBA Baller Beats by Majesco, has had a disastrous launch selling only about 3,000 units in it’s launch month of September.
I can’t say I’m too surprised. This game doesn’t really cater to a wide audience of people considering you have to fit into a number of categories. First off, you have to like basketball. Then you need to own an Xbox 360 and a Kinect. You also need to live somewhere that has no issues with bouncing a basketball in your living room, so apartments are out of the question. Next you probably need hardwood floors so the ball will bounce. Lastly, after all is said and done, you actually have to give a s–t about this game.
I think it might have been that last one that took a few sales away… On the upside for the game, reviews have been fairly decent for it considering it’s a Kinect game, though none of us here on The Gaming Vault have gotten our hands on it. But hey! Maybe it’ll be a slow burner. Hell, they might crack 5,000 units sold by Christmas!

You could tell that this game was going to bomb. I can’t wait to get it for a ridiculous clearance price.
I expect it to be clearanced for $20 before the end of the year.
I know that my Best Buy store literally has eight copies of it, with five sitting in the warehouse.
I do have to wonder, though, how many units did this title ship?
