UPDATE: Apparently, only cheaters have been affected by downloading the new character in Borderlands 2, so download away and mechromance, my pretties!

Installing Gaige the Mechromancer comes with a glitch where you lose not only your Badass Ranks for all your characters, but your Golden Keys will reset to one.
Looks like Gearbox Software jumped the gun releasing the much-desired Mechromancer a week early. Twitter is abuzz with gamers desiring their stuff back, and it looks like this glitch is affecting players across all platforms.
I installed the Mechromancer just fine, and haven’t had either of these problems.
Read elsewhere that apparently the only keys/stats that were missing were those obtained by people exploiting the game or otherwise being dicks about things.
It’s made me nervous to get Gaige, but I’ve been an honest player so I can’t worry too much.
Yo its not just cheater affected cause me and my girl have been playing for a couple weeks neither of us cheat and only her badass rank and stuff was reset …btw we play split screen on the same console, I dont get why it happened to just her like
