Fusehader

To celebrate its changing moniker, publisher EA and developers Insomniac Games have released a new trailer for their co-op shooter Fuse, formerly known as Overstrike.  As well as a change in name, the game has undergone some aesthetic changes too; the cartoony look from its Overstrike days being replaced with a more edgy and serious appearance.

Presumably to make it fit in better with every other shooter on the market.

You can catch the trailer after the break.

Appearing to be a dynamic, cover-based co-op shooter the trailer for the newly renamed shooter certainly shows off the frenetic gameplay that the game intends to offer.  The titular Fuse itself can seemingly be used in a number of different ways; from an offensive standpoint it can create explosions and gravity sucking mini-black holes and from an defensive standpoint it can manifest a massive shield which will deflect even the strongest attacks.

I’ll need to see more of it before i’m convinced, but hopefully, the rebranding of the IP doesn’t serve to make it generic through and through as its new look might suggest.

See for yourself below:

Fuse is due to release on Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms in March 2013.
