One of the most charming and enjoyable experiences I had with a platformer last year, came from Ubisoft‘s rather excellent Rayman Origins. It was a hugely playable platformer that while perhaps a little on the easy side, nevertheless enthralled me with its solid gameplay and outrageously gorgeous 2D visuals.
Its sequel though, Ubisoft has now confirmed, is a Wii U exclusive.
Looking at the trailer below, you can probably see why its exclusive to Nintendo‘s forthcoming home console; as there are a lot of gameplay elements which appear to play directly to the Wii U’s functionality such as the GamePad’s potential for asymmetrical cooperative multiplayer.
It looks bloomin’ marvellous. Have a look for yourself:
Rayman Legends will arrive exclusively for the Wii U, this holiday season.
