When they’re not making Pokemon games, longtime franchise developer Game Freak generally isn’t doing much else.

Which is precisely why the announcement of a brand new title from the developer during Nintendo‘s Direct webcast comes as such a pleasent surprise.

Titled ‘Harmo Knight‘, the 3DS title is an almost sickeningly bright and colourful rhythm-action game that sees the titular Harmo Knight sprinting through stages, collecting musical notes to create sweet melodies whilst clobbering enemies with a giant musical note.

It all looks very twee and very Nintendo as you might expect; which, of course, is rarely a bad thing.
