Don’t you just love surprises? I do. When they’re good surprises and not crap ones. As you might reasonably infer, this particular surprise falls quite squarely in the latter category.
Yep, in order to make the whole Vita situation just that little bit more crappy, Sony have smuggled in a feature into the latest v1.80 firmware which locks memory cards to unique PlayStation Network accounts.
Effectively, if you want to facilitate multiple accounts or multiple regions, you now have to have an additional memory card for each account or region. Not exactly a compelling proposition i’m sure you’ll agree when you recall just how expensive Vita memory cards are.
And all this just after they launched PSOne compatibility for the handheld too. One step forward, two steps back etc.
What do you guys think? Do any of you have Playstation content straddled across multiple accounts and if so, how do you foresee it affecting you?

Wait, wait.
But what if I have multiple memory cards? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
Then you are one of the lucky ones and can separate your various stuffs between them all :)
So folks seem to reckon at least.
I’m good with just one account as I only have my one.
So glad I grabbed a 32GB card. Is it bad to say I wish there were bigger ones? Between PSone and PSP games, along with some Vita downloads, I’m dying for more space…
Also, more spots for icons on the menu! 100 slots doesn’t last long!
