CabelasDH2013

Another year, another Cabela’s game. While nothing really captures me to really try a hunting game, someone at Activision sure as hell is trying to innovate the franchise. After changing the main prey from cute, harmless deer to dangerous animals that will rip your face off, and last year’s failed attempt (though still an attempt!) at an action game with Cabela’s Survival, what can they do next to try to innovate? How about a fancy new gun that knows if you’re freaking out?

No, I don’t really get it either.

No, seriously, it has sensors. The Top Shot Fearmaster has a biometric heart rate monitor and motion stability sensors. If you can manage to control yourself, you will see improved accuracy. However, the Wii version will only track motion stability, so if you want to check your heart rate while hunting virtual cheetahs, you’ll need the Xbox 360 or PS3 version.

Other features of Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013 include new animal AI, and a two-player “Maneater” mode which seems similar to Gears of War‘s horde mode.

Dangerous Hunts 2013 will be out October 23rd for all three consoles with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions being $79.99 with the Fearmaster and $39.99 without. For Wii, it will be $59.99 with the Fearmaster and $29.99 without.
