With all the Gamescom hubbub caressing our eyes and raging in our ears, it can be quite easy to miss the smaller, less trumpeted things.
One such instance of this coming to pass, was the announcement of a new Cyberpunk, Martian RPG for PC, PSN and XBLA.
Due next year, the Focus Home Interactive published Mars: War Logs, is an action-RPG set on the titular world, where players will take the role of the amusingly named Roy Temperance; a talented renegade thrust into the middle of a resource war for newly discovered water underneath the surface of the red planet.
Intriguingly, the game’s gameplay features certainly seem to indicate an ambition beyond what its digi-distro format typically embraces with a myriad of skills, talents, weapon and tool crafting, third-person cover shooter combat and a branching dialogue system not at all unlike a certain other Sci-Fi RPG.
While the level of ambition on show here has certainly grabbed my attention, my breath will remain baited until I can verify that all of the fundamentals have been nailed first.
