Ramping up anticipation prior to its release next-month, THQ have dropped a trailer for Darksiders II on us ordinary folk that features sweet, sweet gameplay and nothing else.  How lovely.

There’s no CG, no live-action shenanigans and no bearded dudes from Game of Thrones, just good old-fashioned gameplay footage as the good Horsemen intended.

Appearing to place focus much more on the combative elements of the game rather than the exploratory, platforming side of things, the trailer certainly shows that Darksiders II is shaping up pretty nicely indeed.  A good thing really, considering what a diamond in the rough the Vigil Games coded 2010 original was.

Darksiders II is due to release in both standard and collectors edition versions for PC, 360 & PS3 this August.  A Wii U version is tipped to arrive before the end of the year.
