In another case of rumour being revealed as fact, Microsoft has today confirmed that the People Can Fly developed Gears of War prequel, Gears of War: Judgment, will release in Western territories on March 19th, 2013.

This effectively puts the exclamation mark on the confirmation of the date after Epic Games used a fan’s tattoo to reveal the date at this year’s Comic-Con.

According to those happy, bouncy PR types over at Microsoft, Judgment has been designed to be “designed to be “the most intense and challenging Gears game yet.”

Promises, promises.

The date itself is interesting since it marks the shortest time between releases for any instalment in the action-packed, testosterone filled trilogy.  A fact that shouldn’t be surprising to many given how creatively conservative the game appears to be.

Also, in case you missed it, Microsoft released a video detailing the tutorial for the new overrun game type.  You can see it embedded below:

Gears of War: Judgment arrives exclusively on Xbox 360 on  March 19th, 2013.  It’s RRP is $59.99/£49.99 respectively.
