Those of you who bought the titular title, will likely be filled with glee or something to learn that the game has apparently sold enough to warrant a sequel.

Not only is Dragon’s Dogma a certified home-run but there is good news across the board for the Japanese publisher/developer as Capcom has reported fairly decent increases in profits for the first financial quarter of the year.

A large part of that financial kick up the rear end though, came from Dragon’s Dogma, which despite its relatively lukewarm and possibly underrated critical reception, evidently captivated enough minds and wallets to make the game a success.

In addition to first-quarter fortunes, Capcom also went into a little detail regarding their second quarter earnings.  It’s all hadokens and rainbows here too as their profit for the second quarter leapt an almost improbable 300% based on year-on-year figures which equated to the company bringing in roughly ¥1.3 billion/£11 million/$17 million respectively.

In regards to their digi-distro, Cappy-C is also bringing home the green  posting sales of ¥13.7 billion/£111 million/ $175 million respectively.

No official announcement has been made yet on a Dragon’s Dogma sequel, though there have been plenty of murmurings pointing to one prior to the announcement of these financials.  Presumably its a matter of time at this point.  Having not played the original myself, I’m not really in any sort of position to be excited for a sequel – but what about the rest of you?

Does a second Dragon’s Dogma do anything for you?
