Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 5 is a real thing, even though this news isn’t exactly new. Either way, Kojima has confirmed some factoids to French magazine IG.

Kojima has confirmed two big things: That the next entry in the Metal Gear franchise will be running on the FOX engine he has been developing for a few years now, and that “we have not yet finished with Solid Snake,” even though Kojima also said in the same interview that he “wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”

Kojima talked a bit about what he wanted to do with the game, citing the latest Deus Ex game as an inspiration, and reiterating that Metal Gear Rising isn’t a true Metal Gear experience. Kojima couldn’t talk about the title much, claiming there was a “female ninja PR rep hiding behind the door to cut me up if I say too much.”
