Augmented Reality games are neat, I’m not even going to pretend that seeing plain cards turn into 3D holograms isn’t the best thing since Leia asked Obi Wan for help. And today Playstation announced a brand new one for the Vita called PulzAR.

PulzAR is a puzzle game where the earth is in danger from asteroids. In order to save the earth you use your AR cards, which have various splitters, directional changers and reflectors, to send a laser beam through an obstacle course and to the asteroid. Once that’s accomplished you can ‘watch’ the laser launch by slowly tilting your Vita up towards the sky as if following the laser into space. Kind of gimmicky, but the gameplay itself looks fun and challenging.

PulzAR launches next month.
