Daniel Kaplan. Mojang’s business developer, revealed on Twitter today that Minecraft has sold a whopping 9.2 million copies since release.

The exact number was given, rather ironically, when Markus ‘notch’ Persson, the creator of the game, asked on Twitter if anyone at the company had a specific numbers on sales, to which Kaplan a href=”https://twitter.com/Kappische/status/205945094795309057″ target=”_blank”>revealed the answer.

The game has branched out since its early PC beta days to appear on numerous other formats, including Android and iOS. It most recently appeared on Xbox Live, which subsequently went on to break numerous sales records on the service.
