According to a new report from The Verge, Valve, creators of Half Life, TF2, Steam, and other stuff you know Valve made already, are supposedly making a console. That would mean cloud based saves, sweet deals on a huge downloadable game marketplace, and Gabe Newell swimming in moolah.
This rumor comes after Gabe Newell mentioned in an interview with Penny Arcade that
“…if we have to sell hardware we will.”
The Verge backs up this seemingly empty remark with patents Valve has filed for a controller with movable parts, and rumblings of meetings where people have already played with the console. The console may be announced at GDC, and if not, E3 of this year. If this rumor is true, and Valve is in fact making a console that will play the games you’ve already bought on Steam, with the same functionality and all…well, let’s just say I’d buy it.

If this is a thing that happens, I demand pics of Gabe swimming in his money Scrooge McDuck style.
